A Photographic & Videography Service for people who are researching their Scottish Genealogy from outside of Scotland. I can travel to grave sites, villages, towns, locations of interest to your quest for more information about your Scottish Ancestors, and take photos and shoot video footage for you.
I am based in Central Scotland and cover: Perthshire, Stirlingshire, Fife, Glasgow & Lanarkshire. I can travel to Edinburgh, Scottish Borders, Western Isles, Ayrshire, The Scottish Highlands at an additional cost. See Services
I can travel further afield in Scotland, but this may require overnight stays and additional costs. I also add in more information about the sites/areas and chat to locals to gather more information for you.
About Me
Hi, I'm Peter Carroll and I set up Your Scottish Ancestry to help people in other parts of the world, who have Scottish ancestry and are researching their family history. I also have a passion for ancestry/geneaology. My ancestral heritage is predominantly from Ireland, but my family do have Scottish links going back to the 1500's in Perth, Fife, Mussleburgh, Lanarkshire and the Scottish Borders.
I know only too well how important key information is in the quest to find out more about where we come from, how we ended up where we are etc and if we had visual evidence, that would just put the icing on the cake to help us to understand who we are and where we and our ancestors came from, how they lived, where they lived, where they died etc, to give us a wider insight & understanding into our family history more and of course, understanding ourselves better. It really is a form of therapy and a journey within a journey.
To me, it's also a mark of respect to family members from the past and taking an interest in their lives, what they went through, how & where they lived, which leads to where you are now.
